Fashion Illustrator of the Year - Winners
The Arts Society Falmouth (TASF) has been instrumental in encouraging and recognising the skills developed by Students of Fashion Illustration at Penryn College, culminating in awards in a competition for Fashion Illustrator of the Year. The competition / course was formed to make fashion illustration resources easily accessible to young people using a variety of artistic media. The project was taken forward in collaboration with Penryn College with guidance from their enthusiastic textiles teacher. TASF has funded the course whereby T-shirts have been transformed by students into fantastic designs using revamped style techniques, dye techniques, photographic prints, block printing and more. Well done to all students who entered the competition. Huge congratulations go to the three winners (pictured with Maggie) who were presented with glass-engraved trophies and an illustration resource art pack by Maggie Letch TASF Young Arts representative.
Maggie commented: ‘These are our inspiring fashion designers and illustrators of the future. I was extremely impressed by the creative talent and artistic skill of all the entries: all the students should be very proud of their achievements. It has been a pleasure to work with the dedicated and supportive staff at Penryn College.’
